Carlyn Traina-Kane, Intern
With a background in dance, Carlyn believes our minds and bodies are connected. In session she will encourage you to utilize mindfulness and somatic exercises to cope with the sensations that may accompany your thoughts and emotions. Carlyn is especially passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community, specifically in working through childhood trauma, coming out experiences, and creating healthy boundaries with families and friends.
Making the decision to reach out to a therapist can feel scary, but Carlyn assures you, she is here to help! Whether you are working through a life transition, experiencing feelings of anxiety, or are just looking to get to know yourself better, therapy allows you the space to explore. She believes that everyone is capable of living a fulfilling life, and understanding the way our mind works is the first step to living more happily in the present.
Carlyn’s goal as a psychotherapist is to create a space where you feel comfortable to be vulnerable and authentic. You are the expert in your life, and she is here to help guide you through greater awareness of the barriers limiting you from your goals. Carlyn hopes to support you on this journey with warmth and empathy. Contact her today.
In her personal life, Carlyn enjoys spending time knitting, sewing, and gardening. When she has free time she is often found in a park reading a good book, or knitting a new project. She also loves spending time with her wife and their elderly tuxedo cat, Snacks.
